The annual IAAPA Brass Ring Awards were announced on Tuesday, Nov. 16, and the Extreme Engineering team was awarded two during the event at the Orange County Convention Center. Extreme Engineering proudly took home two first place Brass Rings Awards:

The innovative Parkour Around™ attraction immerses players in an active experience that puts them into the middle of an adventure video game. Providing nearly limitless fun for guests of all ages and abilities, Extreme Engineering’s unique patent-pending assist system blends cutting-edge technology and video game character abilities with real human skills and excitement. Parkour Around™ is available for client purchase now and has delivery dates available in 2023.
1st Place: Services, Equipment and Supplies for Flex Shade™

The patent-pending Flex Shade™ was developed to provide a quality solution to help outdoor parks, attractions, and recreation areas offer shade from direct sunlight for their guests.
Extreme Engineering’s design requires a fraction of support structure needed to suspend the shade, utilizing its patented flex pole technology. Flex Shade™ can be post installed and does not require the large anchors or pilings at installation competitor products utilize. Using as little as six inches of concrete, Flex Shade™ can be installed above concrete surfaces and will not block sight lines of theming, facades, or area landscaping. The Flex Shade™ is also rated to withstand up to 160 miles per hour wind loads, equal to those of a Level 1 Hurricane.

Celebrating their win on the IAAPA Expo tradeshow floor, Phil Wilson, chief development officer, Extreme Engineering, shared, “We are so excited to bring home two Brass Ring Awards to our team. Earning one is amazing, but to have earned two Brass Rings for our latest product advances means a great deal to each of us.”
In addition to the Brass Ring Awards, the Extreme Engineering team celebrated Wilson himself. During the IAAPA Expo Leadership Breakfast he was honored as the recipient of the 2022 IAAPA Meritorious Service Award. Each year a dedicated IAAPA volunteer, who shares their time, talent, and expertise with the Association and fellow IAAPA members is recognized. For more than ten years, Wilson has served the global attractions industry through many IAAPA committees and events. A tireless volunteer, he has donated his time to multi-year commitments on 12 IAAPA committees, including the Space Allocation Committee, Membership, Committee, North America Advisory Committee, M&S Global Committee, and Investment Committee, and served on the IAAPA Board of Directors. Phil has attended IAAPA events around the world and served as a speaker for many educational sessions and panels.
The addition of Parkour Around™ and Flex Shade™ to their already impressive repertoire of products and services demonstrates Extreme Engineering’s continued commitment to excellence and forward movement. The company is readying for the debut of three new Cloud Coaster rides in 2023 along with many industry projects around the world.
